Walk to Kanba Falls – Maniwa City, Okayama, Japan

Kanba Falls (神庭の滝) is a waterfall located in Maniwa Сity, Okayama Prefecture, Japan.

It is designated as a national scenic beauty spot and has been selected as one of the 100 most scenic spots in Japan and one of the 100 best waterfalls in Japan. The surrounding area is designated as Okayama Prefectural Natural Park.

The waterfall is one of the largest in western Japan, with a 110-meter drop. It is a stepped waterfall with a smaller drop at the top. However, the upper part cannot be seen without climbing up. The autumn leaves are beautiful in fall.

There is a parking lot and a well-maintained walking trail that takes about five minutes to walk to the bottom of the waterfall.

Wild Japanese macaques inhabit the area and can be seen along the trail.
