Walk in Shanghai – Kangjian Park
Kangjian Park (南京东路) is located in Xuhui District, Shanghai. It is bound by Guilin Road in the west, Liuzhou Road in the east, Guanshengyuan Road in the south and Kangjian Road in the north. The park covers an area of 95,700 square meters.
Kangjian Park is a Japanese-style garden park founded by Shanghai magician Bao Qinxuan (stage name Ketian Ying) and was first built in 1937. It was expanded twice in 1987 and 2000.
On February 15, 2023, Kangjian Park was announced as a three-star park in Shanghai by the Shanghai Greening and City Appearance Administration.
It has lakes, mountains, pavilions, bridges and other scenic spots, as well as a science museum, which displays Ketian Ying’s magical props and history.
