Walk through Century Square in Shanghai
Century Square (世纪广场) is located on Century Avenue in Pudong New District, Shanghai. It was built in May 1995, covering an area of 269,000 square meters, with a total investment of 16.348 million yuan.
The overall architecture of Century Square mainly reflects the “light of the century” theme.
At the entrance to the square is a large landscape sculpture “Light of the East” designed in the original form of a sundial, using 24 tons of channel steel and building a pedestal of more than 400 square meters.
The sculpture faces the Century Avenue to highlight the theme of time across the century. It is a perfect combination of sculpture art language and modern high-tech architectural language.
