Walk in Taiyuan Ancient County Town – Shanxi, China
Taiyuan Ancient County Town (太原古县城) located in Jinyuan District, Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province, China, was built in the eighth year of Hongwu Emperor in the Ming Dynasty (AD 1375). It covers an area of about 0.8 square kilometers.
It has the reputation of “Phoenix City” since ancient times.
There are 79 existing cultural relics buildings in the city, and 49 historical buildings listed for protection by Taiyuan Municipal People’s Government. Among them, the Confucian Temple is listed as a national key cultural relics protection unit.
