Walk in Shanghai – Yangshupu Power Plant Relic Park

Yangshupu Power Plant (杨树浦发电厂) was a coal-fired power station in Shanghai. Power Plant is located in Yangpu District and was commissioned in 1911 by a British businessman.

The city closed some generation machines of the Yangshupu Power Plant in 2008 and closed this power plant officially in 2010.

Shanghai municipal government decided to transform Yangshupu Power Plant into a relic park and create a waterfront art space in it. This was done to protect this industrial heritage and improve the ecological environment and urban landscape along the Huangpu River.
