Hong Kong, Kowloon, and we can see the moon. We arrive into this thriving megalopolis via Emirates who consistently prove why their economy class is the the best in the industry. Another nice surprise was Uber giving us a free upgrade to Uber Black so our welcome to Hong Kong and drive to our lodging was in an awesome Tesla…that thankfully had a driver (technology is cool, but I still like cars with actual drivers). We arrive at the shoe box hotel we booked in the Chung King Mansions right in the heart of Kowloon in Tsim Sha Tsui. The mass of humanity swarming around in and out of the mansions combined with the trillions of LED lights that make the streets bright as day even in the middle of the night make this the true city that never sleeps. So much to take in and the experience is just amazing. We waste no time hopping the on the user friendly Metro system and visit the gorgeous Hong Kong Park over on the island of Hong Kong as well as the Botanical and Zoological Park, both of which were highlights of our visit. While the metro is easy to use, the ferry between Hong Kong Island and Kowloon / Tsim Sha Tsui is much cheaper, just as easy and a better view. After walking the hills until our legs were numb we headed to the Temple District in search of our favorite meal…local street food! Despite the rain we still found a tasty meal in a dodgy alley which you know by now is our preferred dining location. Kate does some great food reviews even though we may have ordered the wrong tofu. Oh well, it was still delicious!
