Walk in Shanghai – Zhouqiao Old Street

Located in the center of the ancient town of Upper and Lower Jiading, Zhouqiao Old Street (州桥老街) is the most prosperous and lively part of the ancient town.

The old street still retains the architectural style of ancient houses from the Ming and Qing dynasties.

In the pre-Qin Dynasty, there were human activities on Zhouqiao Old Street. The county was established in the tenth year of Jiading in the Southern Song Dynasty, and named after the year “Jiading” until now.

Zhouqiao Old Street is the root of Jiading and has a history of more than 800 years since the establishment of the county in 1218, which is the birthplace of Jiading’s history and culture.

It is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.
