Walk in Shanghai – Wujiaochang Commercial District
Wujiaochang was first created in the 1930s as the heart of the ‘Great Shanghai’ plan drawn up by the newly formed Republic of China. However, the Japanese Invasion of China in 1937 forced the construction to stop.
It was not until the 21st century that Wujiaochang was developed and soon became one of the four major sub-centers of Shanghai. Nowadays, the business district formed has gathered many merchants and popularity, and has become a shining pearl in the northern area of Shanghai.
