Night Walk in Shanghai – Tianyaoqiao Road
Tianyaoqiao Road is located in Xujiahui, Shanghai, from Zhaojiabang Road in the north to Longhua Road in the south, and is delineated by the inner ring.
The northern section of the street is mainly commercial and the southern end is mainly residential. It is close to the Xujiahui business district. There are many shops on both sides of Tianyaoqiao Road at the north end, which is very lively and can be called Xujiahui’s food street.
Tianyaoqiao Road literally means the key to heaven that is, the road to “the key to the gate of heaven”. It was just because there was a bridge leading to the Xuhui Catholic Church on Tianyaoqiao Road, which was named Tianyaoqiao Road by the world.
