Walk in Shanghai – Old City on Zhejiang Middle Road
Zhejiang Middle Road (浙江中路; Zhe Jiang Zhong Lu) is a south-north street located in Huangpu District, Shanghai.
The street starts from Yan’an East Road in the south and ends at Nansuzhou Road at Zhejianglu Bridge in the north. Once there were many hostels and stores for overseas Chinese.
The south bank of the Suzhou River in the central part of Zhejiang Middle Road was famous for hardware stores. All these stores have moved.
The southern section of Zhejiang Middle Road is still popular, while the area near the south bank of Zhejianglu Bridge is empty due to relocation of residents.
We start the walk on Xizang Middle Road, then walk along Beihai Road to Zhejiang Middle Road.
