Walk in Shanghai – Jiangxi Zhong Road
Jiangxi Zhong Road (江西中路) is a north-south road in the northeast of Huangpu District, Shanghai, starting from Yan’an East Road in the south and ending at Nansuzhou Road in the north. It is 1,285 meters long.
Since the 1920s, the street was known as the “Oriental Wall Street” because of the various banks and financial institutions that were located along the street. With the change of dynasties, the status of Jiangxi Zhong Road as the financial street of Shanghai has declined.
Today, Jiangxi Zhong Road looks very cold, and with the renovation and relocation, as well as the control of the epidemic, this once lively street has slowly been forgotten.
