Walk in Shanghai – Jianguo Road, Tianzifang, The Roof
In this video, we will walk in the old city, following the Jianguo Road from west to east, passing by the Tianzifang Shikumen architectural complex, and walk into the Red Building (The Roof) on Madang Road.
Jianguo West Road (建国西路) is a street across Xuhui District and Huangpu District in Shanghai. The road runs from west to east, starting from Hengshan Road in the west and ending at Ruijin 2nd Road in the east and connecting to Jianguo Middle Road. The total length is 2498 meters.
Jianguo Middle Road (建国中路) is a street in the central part of Huangpu District of Shanghai, starting from Jianguo East Road in the west and ending at Chongqing South Road in the east. The road is 588 meters long.
Tianzifang or Tianzi Fang (田子坊) is a neighborhood of labyrinthine alleyways and shikumen houses, in traditional Shanghainese architectural style off Taikang Road (泰康路) and near Jianguo Middle Road.
The Red Building (The Roof) is a commercial shop. There is also office areas. The top floor has a 140-meter panoramic canopy with a steel frame structure.
