Walk in Shanghai Century Park – Lotus in Full Bloom

Century Park (世纪公园), once known as Pudong Central Park, is located in Pudong New District, Shanghai. The park is adjacent to Fangdian Road to the east, Huamu Road to the south, and Jinxiu Road to the northwest, covering an area of 140.3 hectares.

The park is divided into seven areas: the lakeside area, the viewing area, the sparsely wooded lawn area, the bird sanctuary, the rustic garden area, the exotic garden area, and the miniature golf course area.

The design idea reflects the concept of the mutual integration of Chinese and Western garden art and man and nature.

Central Park broke ground in September 1996. The first area in the park, namely the rustic garden area, was completed and opened to the public in July 1997.

It was fully opened to the public on April 18, 2000, and the leaders of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee proposed to rename “Central Park” as “Century Park”.

In 2002, Century Park was named a national AAAA-class tourist attraction.
