Vivid Niltava – Natural Bird Sound

The Taiwan vivid niltava or small vivid niltava is a bird in the family Muscicapidae.

Feature:
Body length 16 cm. Iris dark brown, light brown around the eyes. Mouth black. Feet black.

Male and female plumage is different. Males are blue and yellow in color. The back is a lustrous royal blue, the wings are dark brown, and the feather edges are slightly bluish.

Forehead, face and throat dark blue. Orange below the chest, orange-yellow protruding to the throat into a distinct triangle.

The back of the female is slightly bluish gray-brown, the wings and tail feathers are dark brown, and the feather edges are yellowish brown.

The face is gray-olive, the throat and upper chest are yellow-brown in the center, the abdomen is roughly gray-brown, the center of the abdomen is white, and the tail coverts are yellow-brown.

Distributed:
The world is only distributed in East Asia. The endemic subspecies vivida is only found in Taiwan, and usually inhabits broad-leaved forests in mountainous areas between 1,000 and 2,400 meters above sea level.
