Vinous-throated Parrotbill – Natural Bird Sound

The vinous-throated parrotbill is a species of parrotbill in the family Sylviidae; formerly, it was placed in the closely related Timaliidae. It is found in China, Japan, North Korea, South Korea, Mongolia, Russia, Taiwan, and Vietnam.

The subspecies of birds endemic to Taiwan are generally distributed in the low and middle altitude areas below 2200 meters, and the low altitude is more common.

Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montane forests.

Feature:
12 cm in length. Iris dark red. The mouth is short and thick and conical, dark pinkish gray or pinkish brown, and the apex is pale. Feet pink flesh.

Male and female body plumage is the same. The head to the back of the neck and the outer edge of the flight feathers are chestnut red. The back and wings are olive brown, and the tail feathers are long, accounting for about half of the body length, dark brown. The face, throat, and chest are light pink, with indistinct dark vertical lines on the throat and chest. Underbelly pale yellowish brown.
