Taiwan Blue Magpie – Natural Bird Sound

The Taiwan blue magpie, also called the Taiwan magpie, Formosan blue magpie, or the “long-tailed mountain lady”, is a species of bird of the crow family.

Feature:
Body length 64-69 cm. Iris yellow. Mouth and feet red. The head, neck, and chest are black, and the rest are roughly blue. However, the feathers of the lower abdomen are lighter, and the ends of the wings and the undertail coverts are white.

The tail feathers are very long, accounting for nearly two-thirds of the body. The two central tail feathers are blue and the ends are white. The other tail feathers are black in the middle and white at the end.

Distributed:
Taiwan’s endemic bird species. Mainly inhabits needle and broad-leaved forests at medium and low altitudes.
