Cala di monte Turno is an enchanting cove of soft sand that plunges into the crystal clear sea chosen as the most beautiful beach of 2018 by the experts of Skyscanner, a leading vacation website, drawn up on the basis of cleanliness of the shoreline, water clarity and landscape.
Cala di monte Turno owes its name to the unmistakable, rounded profile of the relief that stands out behind it. It stretches for 300 meters in the territory of Castiadas.
What makes it particularly striking is the contrast between the celestial and turquoise of the crystal clear water, the green of the lush vegetation, and the dark of the volcanic rock of the hill behind, broken by the bright white of the soft, fine sand.
By the shore the white color takes on an amber hue. While among the Mediterranean scrub behind, gnarled junipers stand out. The seabed is sandy and almost immediately deep.
The beach is quite exposed to winds, so it is very popular with surfers and kitesurfers, who come here from all over the world.
