Road Trip – Mt. Evans Scenic Byway, Idaho Springs, USA

The Mount Evans Scenic Byway is located just south of the City of Idaho Springs and only an hour hour drive from Denver, in Clear Creek and Jefferson counties, Colorado, United States. The length is 49 miles (79 kilometers).

The byway ascends to 14,140 feet (4,310 m) of elevation near the 14,271-foot (4,350 m) summit of Mount Evans, making it the highest paved road in North America (beating the 14,115-foot (4,302 m) Pikes Peak Highway by only 25 feet (8 m).)

If you are visiting Denver and looking for adventure, this is a must do activity. A thrilling drive up 9000′ of elevation to the peak of one of Colorado’s 14ers. There are numerous hiking and wildlife opportunities along the road with some of the most incredible views you will ever see!
