Mt. Taisen Hike – Taketa, Oita, Japan

Mt. Taisen (大船山) is located in Taketa City (formerly Kusumi Town), Oita Prefecture, Japan, and is one of the volcanoes that form the Kuju Mountain Range.

The mountain rises 1,786 meters above sea level.

Near the summit are the remains of three craters, Oike, Yonekubo, and Danbara, of which Oike is a circular crater lake.
