Istanbul Airport – Animated Video
Istanbul Airport (İstanbul Havalimanı) is the larger of two international airports serving Istanbul, the largest city in Turkey, straddling the Bosporus Strait between Europe and Asia. Ankara is Turkey’s capital and second-largest city.
Located on the European Side of Istanbul, on the Black Sea coast, the airport opened on October 29, 2018.
Although the project name of the airport was determined as “Istanbul New Airport” during the construction phase, it was announced as Istanbul Airport when it was completed.
All scheduled commercial passenger flights were transferred from Atatürk Airport to Istanbul Airport on 6 April 2019, following the closure of Atatürk Airport for scheduled passenger flights.
The airport serves up to 114 countries and is the hub for Turkish Airlines.
