Hike along the Shore of Lake Baikal, Russia

Lake Baikal is a rift lake in Russia that was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1996. Our hike starts at two lakes that are adjacent to Lake Baikal in the north-western part of the lake.

These are Big Slyudyanskoe Lake (Slyudyanskoye Ozero) and Small Slyudyanskoe Lake, located in Severo-Baykalsky District, Republic of Buryatia, Russia.

We get on the Great Baikal Trail and hike to the Baykalskoye, a rural locality (a selo).
