Eastern Spot-billed Duck – Bird Sound
The eastern spot-billed duck or Chinese spot-billed duck is a species of dabbling duck that breeds in East and Southeast Asia.
Feature:
The body length is 58~63 cm. Iris brown. The mouth is black, the front end is yellow, and the front end of the mouth is yellow with black spots in the breeding season. Feet orange-red.
The face and upper neck of the male bird are gray-white-brown, the top of the head and the eyeliner are black, the eyebrow line is gray-white, there are dark-brown line spots from the base of the lower beak to the eyes, the back, waist, and tail feathers are dark-brown, and there are obvious blue-purple spots on the wings.
The lower neck and chest are pale yellowish-brown with dark gray-brown round spots, and the spots become more and more in the back, forming a uniform dark brown after reaching the middle of the abdomen.
The female bird is similar to the male bird, but smaller in size and lighter in plumage. The juveniles are similar to the females, but the belly is brownish and has fewer spots.
Distributed:
Breeds in northern Eurasia. In winter, it migrates to southern Eurasia, Taiwan, Southeast Asia and other places to keep out the cold.
