Uvita Beach & Eco Chontales Waterfall – Travel to Costa Rica
Uvita de Osa is a small town in southern Costa Rica, on a section of coastline known as the Bahía Ballena. It is notable for hosting the annual music event (Envision Festival) and being home to the Uvita Beach (the Cola de Ballena; Whale’s Tail) which is one of the beaches comprising Marino Ballena National Park.
The Whale’s Tail has been described as one of the world’s most beautiful beaches. It is popular for swimming and water sports.
Uvita is a good place to see humpback whales in the wild. At one time of the year groups from Northern California and Alaska come here, and at other times of the year groups from the south and from Antarctica.
Uvita has grown tremendously since the early 2000s and is the commercial center of the Costa Ballena region. Many expatriates from North America and Europe have made Uvita their home, so many of the locals speak English as well as Spanish.
Eco Chontales Waterfall is a waterfall located near the city of San Isidro de El General in the province of San José, Costa Rica.
It is a tourist attraction. You will need a car to get there. From the parking have to walk, but don’t worry is a nice trail, not complicated and just takes around 20 minutes (maybe less).
