Aerial View of Leuchtenburg Castle – Seitenroda, Germany
The Leuchtenburg is a hilltop castle near the municipality of Seitenroda in the district Saale-Holzland, in Thuringia, Germany.
The renovated medieval castle complex is used for tourism and houses the exhibition Porzellanwelten Leuchtenburg, a museum and, as part of a modern extension, a walkable footbridge of wishes projecting into the valley.
The castle grants a wide panoramic view of the Middle Saale Valley as well as the Thuringian timberland on a mountain cone visible from afar with a height of 395 m above sea level.
