Walk in Shanghai – Jiangwan Stadium Area
The Jiangwan Stadium was designed by the famous Chinese architect Dong Daimei as part of the National Government’s plan for “Greater Shanghai” in the last century, and was then known as the Jiangwan Sports Center.
Built in August 1934, it was completed and put into use in October 1935, covering an area of 360 acres. Kangwan Stadium includes a stadium with a capacity of 42,000 spectators, a gymnasium with a capacity of 3,500 spectators and a swimming pool with a capacity of 2,500 spectators.
Today the Jiangwan Stadium has been partially renovated and reopened for use.
