Eurasian Hoopoe – Natural Bird Sound

The Eurasian hoopoe is the most widespread species of the genus Upupa.

It is a distinctive cinnamon coloured bird with black and white wings, a tall erectile crest, a broad white band across a black tail, and a long narrow downcurved bill. Its call is a soft “oop-oop-oop”.

Feature:
The hoopoe is the national bird of Israel and the county bird of Kinmen County, Taiwan.

The body length is 26-28 cm. Iris brown. Mouth slender and curved, black, flesh-colored at the base. Feet black.

Androgynous. The head, neck, throat, and breast are yellowish brown, the upper back and shoulders are light brown, the top of the head has long and broad crown feathers, the tip is black, usually folded and lodged, and it is fan-shaped when upright, and the wings and tail feathers have black and white stripes. Belly white.

Distributed:
Widely distributed in Europe, Asia and Africa.
