Dunhuang Museum, Jiayuguan Cultural Relics Scenic Area (Chinese)
Dunhuang Museum (敦煌市博物馆) is a museum located in the city of Dunhuang, Gansu Province, China. It contains a number of Chinese and Tibetan items such as manuscripts from Cave 17 of Mogao Caves (莫高窟), and domestic items.
It was founded in 1979.
Jiayuguan Cultural Relics Scenic Area (嘉峪关文物景区) is an area of 4523.36 square meters located in Jiayuguan City (嘉峪关市), Gansu Province, China.
It was first built in the fifth year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty (1372) and is the westernmost end of the Great Wall of China.
It is known as “the world’s largest pass” (Jiayu Pass), “major defense between China and foreign countries” and “Silk Road throat”.
