Calette, Torre di Piscinnì – Domus De Maria, Sardinia, Italy

Domus de Maria is a comune (municipality) in the Province of South Sardinia in the Italian region Sardinia, located about 35 kilometres (22 mi) southwest of Cagliari.

At about one kilometer from the “mother” beach (Piscinnì beach) there are some coves near the mighty and high Tower of Piscinnì (Torre di Pixinni) from which Piscinnì takes its name.

Both the tower and the coves are reachable by some paths.
The tower was probably built between the sixteenth and seventeenth century by the Spaniards. It stands on a promontory overlooking the wild and picturesque landscape of beach and Mediterranean vegetation around.

The beaches are small, about 60 meters and offer especially for those who love snorkeling a seascape worthy of note. All around we have the Mediterranean scrub to frame a stretch of coastline.
