Driving around Xi’an, the Ancient Capital
Xi’an (西安市, Xi’an City) is the capital of the Chinese province of Shaanxi, located in the central part of the Yellow River Basin. Known as Chang’an (长安) throughout much of its history, it is one of China’s Four Great Ancient Capitals.
Xi’an is one of the important birthplaces of Chinese civilization, the home of the 3rd-century BC Terracotta Army commissioned by Emperor Qin Shi Huang, and the starting point of the ancient Silk Road.
