Walk in Shanghai – Hengshan Road
In the 1990s, Hengshan Road used to be a famous barstreet in Shanghai, gathering Shanghai’s early bar culture. After 2015, Hengshan Road launched a historical stage, bars along the street moved away one after another, and new nightlife gathering areas such as Taikang Road and Zhangyuan replaced them.
Hengshan Road was called Petain Road in the early days. It used to be the main arterial road in the French Concession. It is also one of the well-known streets of French phoenix trees. Both sides of the road are European-style garden residences.
