Sugarloaf Mountain (Portuguese: Pão de Açúcar) is a peak situated in Rio de Janeiro on a peninsula at the mouth of Guanabara Bay. Rising 396 m (1,299 ft) above the harbor, the peak is named for its resemblance to the traditional shape of concentrated refined loaf sugar.
It is known for its cableway and panoramic views of the city and beyond. The mountain became part of a World Heritage Site declared by UNESCO in 2012.
Escadaria Selarón, locally known as the ‘Lapa Steps’ (Escadaria da Lapa) for being situated at the “Lapa” neighborhood, is a set of world-famous steps.
They are the work of Chilean-born artist Jorge Selarón who claimed it as “my tribute to the Brazilian people”. The public stairway is decorated with colorful hand-painted tiles.
The Cathedral of St. Sebastian of Rio de Janeiro also known as the Metropolitan Cathedral of Saint Sebastian and Metropolitan Cathedral of Rio de Janeiro, is a cathedral of the Catholic Church and the seat of the Archdiocese of São Sebastião.
The church is dedicated to Saint Sebastian, the patron saint of Rio de Janeiro.

Christ the Redeemer (Cristo Redentor) is an Art Deco statue of Jesus Christ in Rio de Janeiro created by French-Polish sculptor Paul Landowski and built by Brazilian engineer Heitor da Silva Costa, in collaboration with French engineer Albert Caquot.
Romanian sculptor Gheorghe Leonida sculpted the face. Constructed between 1922 and 1931, the statue is 30 metres (98 ft) high, excluding its 8-metre (26 ft) pedestal. The arms stretch 28 metres (92 ft) wide.
