The Mare’s Tail Waterfall, Ireland – Photography Trip

The Mare’s Tail Waterfall, Ireland – Photography Trip

The Beara Peninsula is a peninsula in the Republic of Ireland. It is located in County Cork County and Munster Province, in the southwestern part of the country, 300 km southwest of the capital Dublin.

While driving along the Beara Peninsula I spotted what seemed to be quite a large waterfall in the distance and soon I was upon it.

The Mare’s Tail waterfall is the highest waterfall in Ireland and the UK. It is a cascade taking the waters of Coomadavallig Lake over the impermeable sandstone to the valley.
