Seascape Photography – Dunquin, Ireland

Seascape photography seems to grab me every time I get the opportunity to visit. The motion of the waves, the smell of the air, the wind, the rain, the rawness of the cliffs, the smoothness of the sand. These are many of the reasons I love Seascape Photography, but its the uniqueness of each wave that gets me every time. Even one single Wave like the one In this thumbnail can yield many shots as it finishes its journey to Ireland from far across the atlantic.

On todays adventure we are back to the Dingle Peninsula and to a location I’ve not visited in a long time, the old Pier at Dunquin. Long since disturbed and replaced with the more famous winding pier, this spot still has some great compositions and some awesome rocks for the waves to crash over. All looking out at the beautiful Islands that lie off the coast of Ireland.

The Dingle Peninsula is the northernmost of the major peninsulas in County Kerry. It ends beyond the town of Dingle at Dunmore Head, the westernmost point of Ireland and arguably Europe.

Dunquin is a village in west County Kerry, Ireland. Dunquin lies at the most westerly tip of the Dingle Peninsula, overlooking the Blasket Islands.
