Autumn Leaves in World Maple Park Hirara – Uda, Nara, Japan

Uda is a city located in northeastern Nara Prefecture, Japan.

This wooden school building was built in 1935 and an active elementary school for about 70 years until the end of March 2006.

After that, the school was closed and plans were made to demolish it. In 2012, due to the passion of the local people, the NPO “Uda Maple Town Planning” received the transfer of the building from Uda City, and it was partially renovated and opened in 2013.

The former elementary school building had been turned into the nice public space.
